A Request to our Snowshoers

 At SELT we are thrilled so many people are enjoying our lands during the winter season. If you are one of our snowshoers we have a reminder and a request: as you travel our trails please do your best to steer clear from the cross-country ski tracks as snowshoes can disrupt the tracks and make it difficult for the skiers. Thank you!

Birch Hill Road Parking Lot, Cabin Trail, and Birch Ridge Cabin CLOSED Temporarily for Trail Construction

Starting today, at Birch Ridge Community Forest in New Durham, the parking lot at Birch Hill Road, the Cabin Trail that leads from the lot, and the Birch Ridge cabin are all temporarily closed. For the next four to six weeks, SELT and Snowhawk LLC will be installing an all-persons trail that will start at the Birch Hill entrance and run to the cabin (between 3,600 and 4,000 feet in length). Please no roadside parking as there will be trucks driving in and out.  To access Birch Ridge Community Forest you can still use the parking areas at Brienne Road and Merrymeeting Road. Thank you.
