Rattlesnake Connector Trail Update (Birch Ridge Community Forest)

A quick update on the Birch Ridge trail system: the connector trail between the Rattlesnake Mountain Trail and the Mount Eleanor/lake Trail is undergoing maintenance this week. A bridge is being constructed.

The trail will remain open.

Birch Hill Road Parking Lot, Cabin Trail, and Birch Ridge Cabin CLOSED Temporarily for Trail Construction

Starting today, at Birch Ridge Community Forest in New Durham, the parking lot at Birch Hill Road, the Cabin Trail that leads from the lot, and the Birch Ridge cabin are all temporarily closed. For the next four to six weeks, SELT and Snowhawk LLC will be installing an all-persons trail that will start at the Birch Hill entrance and run to the cabin (between 3,600 and 4,000 feet in length). Please no roadside parking as there will be trucks driving in and out.  To access Birch Ridge Community Forest you can still use the parking areas at Brienne Road and Merrymeeting Road. Thank you.
