Trail Updates from Birch Ridge and Tucker and French Family Forest

At Birch Ridge Community Forest, the Rattlesnake Mountain “Over The Top” Trail and the Connector Trail between Rattlesnake and Mt Eleanor are near completion, with the expected final completion date on June 18. 

The Rattlesnake Trail is under construction and currently it’s only roughed in with finish work ahead next week. We are about 250’ from being all the way across the ridge to where we left off last year. We hope to have it open soon. Connector trail is open.

Meanwhile, at Tucker and French Family Forest, new ramps are being added to the main bridge on the Mill Pond Loop.

Trail Closures Thursday and Friday at Tucker & French Family Forest and Schulz Turtle Brook Preserve

Today, there is invasive plant treatment going on at Tucker & French and Schulz Turtle Brook Preserve (also happening here on Friday).  At Tucker & French we will be closing the parking area/trailhead at Gate 6 (Beach Plain Rd) and the trailhead at Gate 5 (Mill Pond Loop), which will both be reopened tomorrow.  Please respect the trail closures and especially keep pets off of these trails during the brief closure. Schulz, including a portion of the Barrington trail, will be closed Thursday and Friday.  Thank you!
