Stonehouse Forest Marison Trailhead Closed July 28

Hello Stonehouse Forest users.

Please note that the Marison Trailhead of Stonehouse Forest will be closed due to construction activity on July 28, 2023 to repair the Marison trail. Please avoid the trail from the Marison Trailhead (Gate 1 on the trail map) to the northern junction of the Marison trail and the Bog trail, as there will be heavy equipment in operation. 

The rest of the trail system will remain accessible, including other trailheads. Thanks for your cooperation as we work to maintain the trail system after this summer's heavy rains!

Trail maintenance at the Piscassic Greenway

We have a quick update about some trail maintenance at the Piscassic Greenway. Starting today, June 1, and for the next next few days, there will a contractor doing tread work on the Class A trail portion of Halls Mill Road in Newfields.  Please keep aware when using this section of the trails. IMPORTANT: A Quick Note About SELT Trail Blazes

Our staff and volunteers have been busy these last few weeks performing trail maintenance on our properties in preparation for what is sure to be another busy season of trail use. Recently, at the Mraz Loop at the Piscassic Greenway, we noticed that someone had removed our trail blazes and painted new blazes on nearby trees.  Trail blazes are the round colored signs that help users navigate the trail systems; SELT uses metal blaze signs attached with light-weight aluminum nails, not painted blazes. While we know that this may have been done with the intention to help, we would ask our users to refrain from removing blazes and other SELT signage from our properties and not paint the trees.
